It didn't take us long to get settled in, hooked up, and headed for the Grand Canyon in the Jeep.
We were both in awe of the sites we saw at Zion, but I have to say the Grand Canyon is one up on Zion. Personally I would choose Zion over the Grand Canyon simply because at Zion you are standing looking up at the views and at the Grand Canyon you are standing looking down into the Canyon and believe me it is a long ways down. Jim loved it and delighted in my nervousness.
Here are our first views of the Canyon. We entered the park at the South entrance and walked along a path at the edge of the Canyon with several overlook areas. Many of the overlook areas had railing at the edge but many did not.

Looking from one over look across to the next.
Wish this picture did justice to the distance of the far edge

Here's me as close to the edge as I'm going and hanging on.
Looking towards the bottom of the canyon. The picture doesn't show the depth well.
We had a great day at the Grand Canyon and plan to visit again at the East entrance. We will be continuing east on Hwy 40 to near Flagstaff and then turn up Hwy 89. When we reach Tuba CIty we will again find a secure place to park and head over to the east entrance from there. I can hardly wait.
